But more and more I’ve come to respect what he says, because he makes a lot of sense.

“It doesn’t matter what your rights are if you are dead”.

And that should be a basic, obvious fact.

Quote:

Fox News contributor and former Rep. Trey Gowdy said Sunday that “the right-to-life is the most fundamental, basic, primary right that we have. It is the right from which all other rights emanate.”

Appearing on "Sunday Morning Futures," an emotional Gowdy said, “It doesn’t matter if you have a right to a lawyer if you are dead. It doesn’t matter if you have the right to free speech if you are dead. Doesn’t matter if you have the right to keep and bear arms if you are dead."

Thanks Trey for saying what needs to be said.

I find Trey to be all bark and no bite. Just like the rest of them.
That being said.
A sure way to get a hot civil war going in this country is to try and take the guns.
Looks like Trey is on board.
This will not end well.

He’s spot on. There does need to be a causal effect between what is being proposed and the outcome.

Unfortunately we've had this same argument before but I believe that most Americans do not think that the right of an individual to have a semi automatic gun
supersedes everyone else's right to be able to go about their lives, shopping, to a movie, to a bar, to church or for kids to be able to go to school, without fear of
being gunned down and slaughtered.

If one is going to say, well it's in the constitution, well things that were written two centuries ago, when there were only muskets around, need to be changed to
reflect the current times.

Would you really want to be disarmed with the criminals we have running this asylum?
As we have seen in Europe. You can do a lot of carnage with a car and a crowd.
Even more damage if you steal a gasoline truck.

And, you're right we have been over this before. Even so much as to show written evidence that these mass shooting were contrived decades ago as a way to undermine the constitution.

If push came to shove, we wouldn't stand a chance of defending ourselves anyway, we'd always be outgunned.

I'm more concerned with the criminals who are not running the asylum.

The criminals not running the asylum have much less power to harm you.
Much less power to kill you and get off by saying "I was in fear for my life."
Much less power to steal your stuff under Joe Biden's and Strom Thurmond's asset forfeiture laws.

Many a Nazi said they would not have been able to round up their fellow citizens had those citizens fought back and those Nazis be aware that there was a very good chance they would die trying to round people up.

I'm not saying you don't make some semi valid points, but in the cases you've sited above, I still don't think we would stand a chance.
However getting the high powered guns out of the public at large, criminal's hands, which to me is the more present and immediate danger,
I think we might.

HA!
Never be able to do it.
Civil war would break out immediately.
Criminals will always be able to get guns, knives, fertilizer, cars, gas. Many ways to mass kill.
I think you have drunk the kool aid. Guns are not the problem.
Wealth disparity is the problem.
Those with nothing. Have nothing to lose.

Making guns illegal will work out worse than prohibition and the war on drugs put together.
